Exactly one week had passed since Val Armorr had officially took the reins of leadership and started bringing the Titans back to being the well oiled machine they had been during the "glory days" if you can call them that. Ok so there had been no major emergencies thus far in a week's time and the Titans had lost a few members in Robin, Kid Devil and The Ravager. All three were valuable assets that would whose loss in battle would definitely be missed, but only one of whom Dawn could honestly say she would miss having around the Tower.
On the bright side however, The enormous T-shaped structure was now an overall quieter and more harmonious place to leave now and much less of a war zone than it had been. Thanks to the efforts of their new leader, the Titans had even gained a new member who was apparently from the 30th century just as Val had come from. The two were apparently well acquainted.
As for Dawn herself,...
Too bad my personal life still can't seem to hum as smoothly as Val seems to be getting the Titans to be. There have been some minor occurrences that have required a Titan or two to assist with during the last week but nothing to really put this new batch of Titans to the test as a unit yet. I'd love to be out there with them and as Dove I probably could from a physical standpoint since her structure is completely different from mine. Emotionally however, I still don't think I'm up for it, hence the reason my preggo self as sitting in front of the monitors with her feet propped up doing surveillance and searching for trouble spots. Waddling like the bird I am from my bedroom, to monitor duty, the kitchen and the bathroom to periodically spill my insides into the bowl. Fun fun fun.... Good times, I say. Good times....
Dawn pondered, waxing philosophical and mentally meandering as she sorted out the pieces of her life like a jigsaw puzzle while tilting back a bottle of natural spring water and splashing it's contest between her lips and gums.
Dividing her time between the aforementioned activities and pulling most of the monitor duties, and searching for peeps to play internet backgammon with while waiting for a hot spot to usher the Titans into was a sleep inducing activity all it's own. Fortunately she was spared that dilemma by pulling her hair out strand by strand worrying about Holly.
C'mon sis, I know you're out there somewhere. Why on Earth can't you just....
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
Finally something to break the bored....I mean omg, this is terrible...."
Dawn squinted her eyes to make sure she was seeing what she thought was seeing; Images from a news feed fed to her by the "Eye in the sky of the Metahuman community, otherwise known as Oracle. Images of a mass exodus of all remaining super-villains from the Hightower Meta-Human prison in Metropolis following The Pantheon busting Solomon Grundy out of maximum security.
According to Oracle, the JLA had their hands full elsewhere which means it was finally time for the Titans to get put to the test. Clearing her through, Dawn quickly patched into all the communicators, sending out an S.O.S. to whoever was currently listening.
"Now hear this. Now hear this. TITANS TOGETHER!"
d**n, I've always wanted to say that.
A smile tugged at her lips for a millisecond before becoming serious once again.
"Val and any other Titans that are listening, all the Titans that are available are needed in Metropolis on the double. Mass breakout of all remaining inmates following a successful attempt by the Pantheon to free Solomon Grundy. Apparently the bad guys are recruiting. The T-Jet should be ready for immediate take-off.
She sighed for a moment after finishing sending her call through and then raised Val Armorr once again on a private frequency.
"If you think you could use an extra hand, i can do back-up. Give a shout if you need me, 'kay?"
