Val's immediate response to her own surprised Tasmia, he was utterly and completely ecstatic about it. Scratching the back of her head she watched as he jumped up and down, she looked around to she if anyone was watching.
“But Val, I don't want to- OH!”
She felt herself rise off the ground and Val spun her around, a joyous look on his face. Finally, he set her down, and Tasmia held her head slightly dizzy as Val continued to talk, speaking in a rushed and excited tone.
“I feel….ha ha.. I feel like there should be a song playing in the background right now…”
Tasmia stared at him a completely bewildered look on his face as he looked at her thoughtfully. She shook her head as if discouraging him, but it was already too late as Val began to sing.
“Everybody was KUNG-FU FIGHTING…..”
She placed her hand over her face as she stared down at the ground laughing slightly at Val's silly beahvior. It wasn't everyday that the young martial arts prodigy acted in such a abrurd fashion, so she might as well milk it for all it was worth.
“Grife Val... you don't have to make a big deal out of this...”
She began, peeking through her fingers as he watched continued to jump around performing different moves.
“…those cats were FAST AS LIGHTNING…”
She shook her head, continuing to laugh as she wondered what had gotten into Val and what the Titans had to offer.
The tour around the Titans tower was quite amusing with Val's random commentary. Tasmia had viewed the living area, the recreational area, the kitchen, the gym, the pool, and every other area of the tower that was open to every member. It was a rather nice set up, but it was not as good as the Legion headquarters. Then again, that was in the 31st century and they had a Brainiac in charge of interior designing, so there was a huge there.
“….and this is where we all meet for our meetings.”
She looked at the table, each chair seemed to be marked with a member's name and she wondered if she would be intruding upon them. Her hand ran over each chair, reading off the names that were upon them.
“As you can see, the Tower is no… Legion Headquarters… we don’t have a Brainiac to fill the place up with all sorts of gadgets. But we make due…”
Tasmia laughed slightly, the place wasn't that bad, it was just missing that 31st century feel, but Tasmia could deal with that. She's probably spend most of her time in the gym, pool, and outside anyway, so she wouldn't have to worry about anything. Although having to downgrade on technology would be rather mundane. She wondered how she would eat in this house, everything seemed to require some sort of manual work.
“Here they are, the Titans….”
She looked up to see Val standing at the computer and pulling up a file on every member of the current Titans team. She leaned on the desk, and watched the profiles pull up, Val giving her a brief summary of who each person was.
”Blue beetle, Dove, Metagirl, Misfit, Speedy, Static, and Zachary Zatara.”
Tasmia mentally recalled the members names in her head, putting faces on them as Val explained each of their specialties and characteristics. From what she could deduce, they seemed nothing like the Legion, well in her opinion at least.
“Whatever happened to names like Matter Lad or Saturn Girl?”
Tasmia asked with a small smile as she looked around the table, imagining each person sitting there.
“I'm going to assume I'll being using Umbra as my code name rather than Shadow Lass.”
She added with a laugh, knowing that she would miss when her teammates used to call her “Shady”.
She pushed off the table, looking around the room her arms crossed over her chest as she looked at the Legion flight ring on her finger. She wondered if the Titans had any special tribute to give to the members to mark their membership on the team.
“So... do we get like anything special for being part of this team? Like... a Titan Flight Ring or something?”
Tasmia asked, looking Val up and down to see if he had any obscure objects on him that would mark his participation within the Titans.
“And if this is like the Legion... I'm going to guess we're all going to be living under the same roof... if so... where do I get to stay?”
Tasmia inquired, her mind boggling at the idea of living with complete strangers. She had dealt with this sort of situation before, but she still felt awkward about working with a rather foreign team to her. But, she would have to make the best of it. At the very least Val was here so she wouldn't feel as if she were a complete stranger to everyone. Perhaps things wouldn't be as bad as she envisioned them. The Titans seemed like a curious bunch, she was sure adding a Talokian from the future onto the team would cause some sort of riot. Hopefully, a good one.
